Toskovat - Age of Innocence
Cave's take
Sweet meets harsh in Age of Innocence. Bubblegum, cotton candy and strawberry make a sugary, fairground opening; then a metal screech, rubber, gasoline and car seats cut in, with rose underneath. The base is dark and woody: natural oud, Haitian vetiver, cade and cedarwood, the cade giving a smoky finish. The contrast between candy and rubber follows a story of a sweet childhood interrupted in a split second.
There are 2 ml and 5 ml samples, each hand-decanted from the original bottle, and the 60 ml bottle. It is also one of the eight perfumes in the Toskovat Discovery Set.
If the cotton candy is what draws you in, Pour Toi Citrus Kawaii pairs it with a gourmand accord, lemon and sea salt. For the smoky woods, Zoologist Tyrannosaurus Rex shares the cade, cedar and rose.
