Zoologist samples and discovery set
Each Zoologist perfume in our collection is available as a 60 ml bottle or a 2 ml sample. The samples are filled by hand from the original bottles, which is why they come in our own vials rather than Zoologist packaging.
With a line-up this wide, the Zoologist Discovery Set (23 Samples) is the practical choice: 23 perfumes in 2 ml, from Bat, Bee and Camel to Squid, Toucan and Tyrannosaurus Rex. It lets you compare the whole range on your own skin before choosing a full bottle.
Where to start with Zoologist
- Squid – pink pepper and incense over a black ink accord and a salty accord, with opoponax, ambergris, benzoin and musk underneath.
- Tyrannosaurus Rex – a dark, smoky composition: black pepper, fir and nutmeg, a dense floral heart of champaca, jasmine and osmanthus, then cade, leather, frankincense and vanilla.
- Moth – cinnamon, clove, cumin and saffron give way to powdery iris, heliotrope and mimosa, set on oud, honey, smoke and vetiver.
- Bee – a sweet, sunny composition of orange, ginger syrup and a royal jelly accord, then broom, mimosa and orange flower over benzoin, labdanum, tonka and vanilla.
The Zoologist style
Every perfume is built around one animal, but the note lists show that the house rarely takes that literally. Squid is about ink and salt, Penguin about Antarctic air and ice, Olm about a water cave, limestone and algae. The range is composed by many different perfumers, from Céline Barel and Antonio Gardoni to Tomoo Inaba and Shelley Waddington, and it moves freely between fresh, spicy, resinous and gourmand. Animalic notes such as civet, castoreum and ambergris are marked as synthetic, and many product pages state that the perfume uses no animal products; Bee is the noted exception, as it contains beeswax. Concentrations across the line run from 16% to 25%.
Buying Zoologist at Cave Parfumerie
Cave Parfumerie is an official Zoologist retailer, and our 60 ml bottles are authentic and sourced straight from the brand. Samples are hand-decanted from them. We ship with DHL twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays; delivery takes one to three working days within Denmark and three to five working days elsewhere in Europe, counted from the day we ship.
