Instead of top, heart and base, Principalities is arranged by element. Wind brings hyssop, black tea, rose thorn, violet and ylang-ylang; Water adds mineral notes and petrichor. Earth is the densest part, with oud assafi, dry leaves, galbanum, ginseng root, leather and immortelle. Fire gives ash, elemi resin, chili pepper seeds and saffron, and Æther ends on star dust, cosmos flower, gunpowder, burnt almond cookie, incense, hot metal and sandalwood. The result is smoky, spicy and mineral.

It comes as a 2 ml sample, hand-decanted from the original bottle, and as a 30 ml extrait. The Caeleste Discovery Set is another way to try the house.

If you like the saffron, immortelle, gunpowder and sandalwood, try Zoologist Portuguese Man O'War. Toskovat My Past Selves' Flowers shares the ginseng root, oud and incense.

CÆLESTE is a Romanian niche fragrance house envisioned by creative director Ștefan Răduț, whose philosophy unites spirituality, art, and perfumery through the concept of "An Architecture of the Invisible."
