The Story Behind The Scent

An old buffet, with stained walls, worn wooden paneling, and a battered counter. The atmosphere is gloomy. The light is yellow, dim. On the back wall, above a door, hangs an old clock case. The porcelain dial is cracked, the small hand frozen in a time long lost in space.

An elderly vendor slowly wipes the counter with a damp rag. In the buffet, there are two silent customers, staring into their glasses. A dusty old radio buzzes with folk music, interrupted now and then by local news reports.

This is a small story about a little buffet in the corner of the train station, long gone, swept away along with the communist demolitions.

And all that remains are thoughts and memories, woven like a thick spider’s web, creating a labyrinth.
